TBFAD is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to inspiring the exploration and appreciation of architecture
and the built environment and how it influences shaping our city, our neighborhoods and our lives.

TBFAD’s mission is implemented through educational activities and public awareness events engaging citizens of all ages.

Established in 2015 with the generous support of the American Institute of Architects Tampa Bay Chapter
and the Tampa Community Design Center, TBFAD is committed to nurturing creative cooperation with community
and regional organizations to promote and celebrate architecture, the arts and the built environment.  
The Foundation’s activities focus on public education, research and scholarships.

Thank you to everyone who made the Tiny Homes for Homeless Veterans event such a success!

USF SACD students designed the models-- one of which will be selected as the prototype Tiny Home. The students had the opportunity to speak about the inspiration, process, and research that made this project possible.

TBFAD is proud to have has raised over $3,000 for the organization which aims to provide sustainable living options for homeless veterans in the Tampa Bay area.

Tampa Bay Design Week brings together designers, enthusiasts, community leaders, and citizens to celebrate and explore how design improves the quality of our lives and our community. There will be events all throughout the week ranging from film screenings and set design workshops to bike tours and gourmet culinary design experiences.

2018 ARCHITECTURAL PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST

TBFAD & FMoPA present the annual 2018 Architectural Photography Contest. The top entries will be exhibited at the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts. There will be a special reception announcing the winners on September 28, 2018. The images will be displayed from September 1-30, 2018. The competition is open to the general public and amateur photographers. Professional photographers are not eligible for prize money, but are welcome to participate.

CALL TO ARTISTS FOR A GROUP SHOW

A SHOW ABOUT ARCHITECTURE'S RELATIONSHIP WITH NATURE, ARTIFICIAL LANDSCAPES AND BORDERS.  

Fourth Friday and GalleryAIA presents TERRAINS.  We are currently looking for artists to submit works to be displayed at GalleryAIA at The Center for Architecture and Design. 2D and 3D works are welcome! The exhibit opening will be on Friday, July 27 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and will be a free event open to the public.  Submissions will be accepted until July 12.
